She’s got us twisted
Hands tight behind our backs
Chained up and tied
In the name of
Love
Fear muting faith
In the name of love
She’s got us
Bent like a slave
Cowering at her feet
She speaks softly, sweetly-
This is what love is
Washed, purified mind –
The crucifying of wonder
And questions
And thought
The cutting of the free bird’s
Wings
Stockholm’s captives
Clinging to her feet
In the name of
Love
Death or this grave
That promises life
Fire and brimstone
Weeping and
Gnashing of teeth
Or
Emasculation, prostration
Salvation-
Clinging to her feet
In the name of
Love
The free bird still aches to fly

So this is unrelated to your blog, although it was quite good and interesting, very well written. Have you ever mostly forgotten about someone only to be reminded that you knew them because you saw them on Fear Factor?? lol... That just happened to me today. I went to school with you, although we hung out in different circles, and we met at CYT quite a few years ago, although it's doubtful you would remember. Anyway, just wanted to say hello and congratulate you on all your achievements!
ReplyDeleteHi Josh,
ReplyDeleteFunny how random memories come from unexpected outlets. Thank-you Fear Factor for this one! Good to hear from you, checked out your site but couldn't get into the good stuff because I'm not a myspacer... but from what I could see it looks like you are doing what you love and having success... congratulations! I hope all is well...
Peace,
Britt
Yes I suppose if there is one good thing about myspace it would be umm... yeah I dunno, I use it for my band and to talk with family and friends, in that sense it's quite handy. The good stuff eh? hah, you mean pictures and blogs, I see, well lemme tell you, you're missing out on quite a bit of nothing special, just some pictures of me with my band and a blog full of thoughts. Yes, being in a band is alot of fun, I'm not positive it's the most productive thing I could do with my time, but it's an outlet for alot of pent up creativity, so it works. This is overly long already, who new I had so much to say... It's good to see someone breaking free of Escondido and doign something with their life, what are you up to other than being Miss Awesome USA?... Toodles - Josh
ReplyDeleteLike an onion, your words have layer after layer.
ReplyDeleteJosh:
ReplyDeleteYour thoughts are the good stuff and having a creative outlet for that is very productive... NOT a waste of time. Keep on thinking and questioning in honesty (what are you searching for)... our world is lacking those who do.
I spend my time as of late with my family and friends, writing a lot (not sure to what ultimate end... but I can't help it). Back in sweet California for now!
Tim:
Thanks so much for visiting, you are always welcome! I wandered over to your blog and was fascinated with your candid words...
Fear is limiting in every sense.
ReplyDeleteYou choose to be free.
Lovely and profound writing.
thank you for sharing your thoughts.
Make a wonderful day for yourself.
